Our Rules

The Alcove Syndicate Fishing Lake Rules!

To ensure a pleasant experience for all, we kindly ask that you adhere to our lake rules.

The Syndicate Rules

The Alcove Carp Syndicate Fishing Lake Rules are designed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all anglers. Please respect the environment by keeping it clean and disposing of rubbish properly. Fishing is permitted only during designated hours, and all catches must be reported to maintain sustainable practices. Additionally, please be considerate of fellow fishermen and keep noise levels to a minimum to enhance the tranquillity of the lake.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Our rules

Our bailiffs are truly multi skilled in looking after our waters, our fish and our land.

So don't try and pull the wool over their eyes with excuses or explanations as they've seen it all before and their tempers are short.

Although a cup of tea and a good story will warm their souls.

However , we have rules and these are detailed here -

The rules set out below have been put in place after a great deal of thought and consideration along with time spent thinking that the best way is our way. So, these rules are in essence alive and can change but without notice from the Owner Dave Tetley.
Therefore, It is YOUR responsibility to check them!

These rules are compulsory and are not for debate nor are there exceptions, they are put in place to protect and safeguard the fish and the fishery and to maximise the experience of the anglers.

The bailiffs will be firm but fair and their word is final so please take what they say as being the rules and to act on them without prejudice or sarcasm

All anglers will be required to sign a copy of the rules prior to the start of their membership, joining the syndicate implies that you have read, understood and will comply with all of our rules.

Any issues speak to the Head Bailiff Brian.

We provide all wet gear for your peg, so please do not bring any wet gear.

This is done to protect our fish as dip tanks have proven ineffective and are often not even used.

  1. Tubing only to be used. No leaders of any sort are acceptable. Tubing must be a minimum length of 40cm

  2. Micro-barbed hooks only, the pinch barb rule is no longer in place.

  3. No 360 rigs to be used, Spinner rigs are acceptable with a long shank hook.

  4. Mainline must be a minimum of 0.35mm diameter

  5. No artificial baits of any description to be used

  6. A carp care kit is mandatory and compulsory and must be used on every hook hold and on the body of the fish if required. Please show your carp care kit to the bailiff, if asked to do so.
(You will be asked to leave, if you cannot produce a carp care kit)

  7. The line must be cut before transferring the fish, still in the net, into the sling for removal from the lake. This is to prevent tension being put on the hook hold when carrying the fish to the unhooking mat.
    NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE

  8. The mat must be soaked with fresh lake water before laying the fish on it. Do not use water that has been in the sun for hours as this will damage the fish or kill it.

All anglers are expected to attend at least 2 of the 4 work parties.

As of now, if you do not attend the required 2 work parties you will be required to pay £30 towards fuel, materials and the hire of tools for the work party.

This measure is implemented at a rapidly increasing number of syndictes, and we dont consider it to be unfair
